Simply put, viticulture refers to the science of growing grapes. At Mission Hill Family Estate, it is our reason for being because we believe that great wines are made in the vineyard. From initial planting and budding through to flowering, veraison and harvest, there is no room for shortcuts.
Mission Hill Family Estate has vineyards in five main growing regions throughout the Okanagan Valley, beginning on the Canada-U.S. border. Each has its own combination of soils, microclimate and suitability to specific grape varietals.
Plantings include Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Vidal and Riesling.
